Welcome to Craig Farm

Our comfy self-catering cottage sits high above Loch Ken. It's in a lovely secluded location, with a sunny herb garden and beautiful views toward the Galloway hills and mountains. Silently peaceful, looking out over our organic farm.

This stone cottage is more than 100 years old, with natural stone walls, a recycled wood and slate kitchen, and hand-carved shelves. The bright rooms are simply furnished with sturdy oak, comfy chairs, good beds, fresh linen and a wood stove. Unusual and authentic.

...consider a holiday off the "hidden road"

4 StarsLongshot sleeps up to 5, suiting couples and families. It is ideal for a relaxing holiday in Galloway, with WiFi, walking and quiet cycling on the doorstep (two adult bikes in the shed).

Dog friendly; good dogs welcome.

You could toast the sunset, watch the squirrels, build a campfire, do some night-time star gazing (we're in the Dark Sky Park), then warm up by the log-fire stove. Check our on-line availability calendar and Give us a call - 01644 420636.

We're 5 miles south of Balmaclellan (basic provisions); 13 miles north of Castle Douglas (all facilities); 20 miles from the Solway coast; and about 1 hour west of Gretna Green and the M6/M74 motorway, in south west Scotland.

Eventually, you reach "The Hidden Road"; passing waterfalls, a lochan, and woods; you may see an otter cross the road, and there are red squirrels and deer in the garden. This is the lane leading to the cottage.
