Our comfy old self-catering cottage sits high above Loch Ken. It's in a lovely location, with a birchwood garden and green views. Very peaceful, adjoining our biodynamic organic farm.
This stone cottage is more than 250 years old, with sloping floors and original beams. The cosy rooms are simply furnished with sturdy pine, comfy chairs, good beds, fresh linen and a wood stove.

West Holmhead sleeps up to 5, suiting couples and families. It is ideal for a relaxing holiday in Galloway, with walking and quiet cycling on the doorstep (two traditional bikes in the garage).
We have three stars from the Scottish Tourist Board.

2009 LATE SUMMER WEEKS STILL AVAILABLE: Aug 30-Sept 6, Sept 20 onwards
We're 5 miles south of Balmaclellan (basic provisions); 13 miles north of Castle Douglas (all facilities); 20 miles from the Solway coast; and about 1 hour west of Gretna Green and the M6/M74 motorway, in S.W. Scotland.
Eventually, you reach "The Hidden Road"; passing waterfalls, a lochan, and woods; you may see an otter cross the road, and there are red squirrels and deer in the garden. This is the view from West Holmhead gate.
